1866 Sport Confirmed as the Official Radio for the BrightLife Champions Against Loneliness Awards


1866 Sport have been confirmed as the Official Radio for the BrightLife Champions Against Loneliness Awards to be held at the Casa Hotel, on Friday February 17th. The event is designed to bring the local community together as local charity BrightLife recognises and celebrates those members of society - the public, businesses and charities - who have helped to prevent loneliness and isolation from occurring amongst older people living in Chesterfield, Bolsover and North East Derbyshire.

Mark Cass, the charity’s business development and marketing manager stated: “We’re delighted to be working with 1866 Sport! Our partnership means we can effectively promote what will be a fantastic event to the local community and invite 1866 Sport listeners to enter the awards, or nominate someone who they feel has been a champion against loneliness.”


The 2023 award categories are Champion, Champion Young Person, Champion Volunteer, Champion Medical Professional, Champion Carer, Champion Business, Champion Neighbour, Champion Family and Champion Charity.


Bridget Ball, 1866 Sport’s marketing manager, added: “We are delighted to be working with BrightLife and helping them recognise those have helped combat loneliness.”
